Lets head south!

August 4: After a long time of hard work, it’s finally time to set off on our next adventure!

Andreas: After a summer with temperatures below 20℃ for all but a handful of days, we feel more ready than ever to head south. Me (Andreas), Penny, Loke and the cats will be heading down to southern Sweden, where we have our summer cottage, a few days before Sabina and Johannes who will have to work for another week. It feels both exhausting and exciting when we set off at 03:30 in the morning. Exhausting because it’s quite tough to drive 1500km, both for me and for those who are with me. But still mostly exciting because now begins an adventure that I didn’t think would be possible a year ago when we applied for leave from school for the children and us adults from our jobs.

During the time we are in southern Sweden, we will be visiting family and friends who we unfortunately don’t see as often now that we live in the northern parts of the country.

The joy when we start to approach the summer cottage and the car shows that the temperature outside is 25℃ for the first time this summer is unbeatable!

Temperature when we left VS when we arrived

Sabina: Having to stay and work for another week when almost the whole family has started going south feels a little dull. At the same time, there are things left to do at work to prepare all the employees for my absence. Johannes also has one last working week left at his first summer job at the local grill.

When the time comes, we, just like the others, will make our way all the way down to the summer cottage and start our journey at around 04:00. We are tired but excited! The journey is going well and we can finally reunite with the others and continue the preparations for our biggest adventure yet.

Finally arrived!
